Katti is a mobile app designed to help users keep a personal knitting reference library, including yarn cards, gauge notes, project row counts, and progress logs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what choices you have.
Katti is built primarily around local recordkeeping on your device. Features such as yarn entries, gauge notes, project logs, analytics, and summaries are intended to help you organize your own information. Some app functions may involve account access, in-app purchases, permissions such as camera, photo library, microphone, and speech recognition, and limited service operations needed to provide and maintain the app.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using Katti. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the app.
Katti is not intended for children. The app is intended for users age 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 17 without appropriate authorization, we will delete that information as soon as reasonably possible.

Katti may support limited voice-to-text style functionality when you actively choose to use voice input for notes, project logs, or feedback. We do NOT use any third-party AI services to process user data. All AI processing is performed exclusively on our own internal servers.
We do NOT use your data, content, voice-derived text, notes, photos, or other user materials to train AI models, improve foundation models, or optimize general-purpose machine learning systems. Your data is processed only to provide the feature you requested.
Uploaded or transmitted processing data is deleted after processing is completed, except where the resulting text or output is intentionally saved by you into your app history or records. Temporary processing data is deleted promptly after the task is completed. Any saved result remains in your account or app history only until you delete it or your account/data is removed.
Depending on where you use Katti and where technical resources are located, information related to account access, infrastructure operations, support, and app functionality may be processed in countries or regions other than your own. These locations may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.
When international transfers occur, we take reasonable steps to protect your information through contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and the services provided.
Katti does NOT use facial recognition. Katti does NOT perform biometric identification or biometric analysis. Katti does NOT create, collect, store, or share face templates, faceprints, or other biometric identifiers.
If a user chooses to store a photo in the app, that photo is used only as part of the user's own yarn or gauge record. The app does not analyze facial geometry, identify individuals, infer identity, or generate biometric profiles from images. Any temporary image processing data, if used to support app functionality, is deleted after processing is completed.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include access controls, secure service configurations, restricted internal access, and review of operational safeguards.
Information stored locally in the app remains subject to the security of your device and operating system. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including passcodes, updates, and any platform-level protections.
Although we take reasonable steps to protect data, no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade user data.
We do NOT share any user-uploaded or user-generated content with any third party.
We do NOT use any third-party AI services to process user data. All AI processing is performed exclusively on our own internal servers.
We may use a limited number of third-party service providers only for cloud storage, server hosting, payment-related infrastructure, or other basic infrastructure operations necessary to run the app. Any such provider acts solely on our behalf and under our instructions, is bound by contractual obligations to ensure data security, and is NOT permitted to use user data for any purpose beyond what we instruct.
These infrastructure providers do NOT use data for advertising or user profiling, do NOT use data for AI training or model optimization, do NOT use data for their own purposes or redistribute it, and do NOT independently access or use user content except as strictly necessary to provide the contracted infrastructure service.
We may also disclose information if required by law, lawful process, or valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the app.
Information you provide directly: This may include yarn card details, gauge note details, project log details, notes, summaries, feedback messages, account-related information, and any photos or text you choose to add. If you use voice input, speech-derived text may be generated from your request. The current app experience stores text results rather than archived audio files unless otherwise clearly stated in the app.
Photos and media: If you choose to use the camera or photo library, the app may access images you select or capture for yarn cards or gauge notes. These images may be stored locally on your device and referenced by the app.
Purchase and coin information: If you buy coins through Apple in-app purchases, we may receive transaction-related status information needed to confirm the purchase and update your coin balance. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
Automatically collected information: We may collect limited technical information such as device type, app version, operating system version, approximate region, diagnostic data, crash logs, and service performance information needed to operate, secure, and improve the app.
Permissions data: The app may request access to the camera, photo library, microphone, and speech recognition only when you actively use features that require them.
Cookies and similar technologies: If a web-based component, embedded policy page, or related service uses cookies or similar technologies, they are used only for basic functionality, security, session handling, and performance. Katti does NOT use cookies or similar technologies for targeted advertising.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or operational practices. When we make material changes, we may update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app or through another reasonable method.
